Hi, I’m Inge Steemans
I’m an expat partner, mom of three, and founder of Mothers & Sisters. Originally from Belgium, my journey into motherhood has taken me across countries, healthcare systems, and profound personal growth.
My pregnancies and births unfolded in different parts of the world, requiring me to consciously seek care and create plans tailored to my dream of an unmedicated birth. These experiences taught me the power of preparation, resilience, and the importance of support.
My First Birth: Despite my careful planning, my first birth ended in a C-section when my baby presented breach during birth. This ending of the birth required some processing for me afterwards, but I still look back on an incredibly beautiful first part of the laboring process.
My Second Birth: At the height of the pandemic in New York, I achieved a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). This required diligent preparation and a clear understanding of my goals, lessons I now love sharing with mothers during coaching sessions.
My Third Birth: My personal dream came true—a smooth and beautiful home birth in The Hague, Netherlands. It was the culmination of years of learning, adapting, and trusting the process.
Now that my own childbearing journey is complete, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge, experiences, and preparation strategies with other mothers and their partners.
Why I Do What I Do
Becoming a mother is one of life’s most transformative experiences, but it also comes with unique challenges—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I believe every mother deserves to feel supported, prepared, and empowered in her journey.
Through Mothers & Sisters, I combine my personal experiences with my coaching training to offer tailored coaching and a nurturing community. My goal is to help mothers and their partners approach parenthood with clarity, confidence, and connection.
My Background
While my work is deeply rooted in personal experience, I’ve also pursued formal training to enhance my ability to support others:
Life Coach Certification: Robbins-Madanes Training Institute
Master’s Degree in Business Engineering: Leveraging my business background to create structured, effective coaching programs
In each country I’ve lived, I’ve successfully adapted to local markets, building a career that spans entrepreneurship, leadership, and business development. From starting my own company in France to advancing to VP level in a Dallas digital marketing agency, to running business development based out of NYC for a Belgian tech start-up, I bring a wealth of professional and cross-cultural experience in combination with my motherhood journey to my coaching practice.

Motherhood isn’t just about bringing life into the world—it’s about the identity shifts, personal growth, and deep connections that come with it. My mission is to support mothers and their partners as they navigate these changes, helping them feel prepared and inspired every step of the way.
